It’s 2022, and let’s face it - a lot has happened over the last 2 years that likely has impacted your practice. It at least certainly has impacted mine (virtual classes at home with 3 cats, walking all over the computer, could only last so long). So let’s work together to re-ground ourselves and find meaning and routine in our practice again… with a challenge! (and yes, rewards are involved!)
This year’s spring challenge, “Revitalize Your Practice,” focuses on LSQP's key mission to ignite confidence and vitality in our community through the principal teachings of Pilates: concentration, control, center, position, breath, and fluidity.
Earlier this year, dozens of our community members participated in our 30 Session Spring Challenge with the goal of completing 30 sessions or classes in 8 weeks. We are excited to announce that one client, Maria D., reached 30 sessions during the challenge and won a free month of membership!
Maria shared her challenge experience with us on the LSQP Blog this month:

As we look back upon what we hope was the hardest year we’ll face as a small business, we’d like to share 3 reflections and 3 celebrations.

Did you know that the earth produces food for you based on the season you will need it? In the summer we find foods with a higher water percentage to help keep us hydrated during the hotter months.

The bad news: you’re stuck at home and can’t make it to your favorite studio. The good news is that everything will be okay with a simple shift in perspective. Your at-home workout can be just as effective as any training you do within a studio or gym. You can still apply Joseph Pilates’ principles to your workouts in your living room, dining room, kitchen or bathroom (we won’t judge).
The key is to set yourself up for success. Here are a few tips to keep you happy and healthy as you commit to stay fit from home and navigate through your new workout routine.
While I am proud of the studio we’ve built and the positive impact we’ve had on the health and wellness of our community over the past two years, I’m also acutely aware that we have not been doing enough to truly advance our mission. Our community of staff, instructors, and students is a bit more diverse than the “average” Pilates studio in this country, but it is still a far cry from being truly inclusive and representative of wellness seekers of all races, ethnicities, gender identities and sexual orientations, shapes, sizes, and abilities. And this is on me.
As I began studying in an apprenticeship program to become and instructor and began regularly practicing Pilates and began to experience the physical benefits of Pilates, I also experienced a strengthening in my overall mental well-being. It was a strengthening of my mind and my spirit. It was this discovery that most impacted me, and the reason I’ve continued to feel passionate about teaching this work.
Pilates can be helpful to restore that abdominal strength and stability, heal a Diastasis Recti, improve posture, establish a gravity-eliminated position for those moms who are experiencing pain in standing, prolapse, pubic separation/instability, and create a safe and enjoyable environment to move for your overall well-being.
Now is the perfect time to shake off the winter blues and refresh your home for spring to energize your space. As the days grow longer and warmer, there are plenty of simple ways to revitalize yourself, improve your home environment, and embrace the season of renewal.
