Here at LSPQ, we want to put a spotlight on the rising creative minds of our city and connect them with our community members. Every 3 months we will showcase a local artist and have samples of their work displayed in studio. Come stop by and see the art work for yourself!

Meet December’s Resident Artist

Art by Ryan | Ryan Brandt

Ryan Brandt is an artist and therapist who currently lives in Chicago, Illinois. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2018, with a B.F.A. in studio art with a concentration in painting, along with a second major in psychology and a minor in children studies. She graduated from Adler University in 2021 with a master’s in counseling and art therapy and works as a therapist for kids, adolescents, and young adults. She is a licensed professional counselor and provisionally licensed art therapist.

Ryan has dreamed of being an artist as far back as she can remember. Her favorite media to work in are watercolor and chalk pastel. Her favorite subject matter is figurative work, specifically dancers and figures in movement. She has had work featured in group shows as well as solo shows in the Chicagoland area and has worked on multiple commissioned pieces.
